1854 (launched in 2004)

The congregation of the Infant Jesus Sisters founded by the Blessed Nicolas Barre, a Minum priest, started a school for the education of the disadvantaged at the corner of Victoria Street and Bras Basah Road here in Singapore on 15 February 1854.

The year 2004 sees the IJ community commemortaing the 150th year of its mission on this soil. As the year 1854 is a milestone in the history of CHIJ, the numbers '1', '8', '5' and '4' are inscribed on the face of the watch and strap as part of the overall design in various shades of brown. The traditional yet classic look symbolises faith, humility, strength, fortitude and simplicity - the very attributes that the Sisters bore when they first set out on their long and difficult journey from France to Singapore to fulfil the mission of Blessed Nicolas Barre.

Spring84 (launched in 2003)

It was a momentous occasion for CHIJ Primary in 1984, when the school moved from Victoria Street to Toa Payoh. The face of the watch is divided into four different colours representing the seasons of the year.

This respresents the continuity of the IJ Spirit in the education of the girls who pass through our gates each year. A single marguerite, which is part of the school crest, has replaced the number '1' on the face of the watch. This symbolises the start of a new chapter in the history of CHIJ - a new life and a new beginning that the season of spring always brings.
