CHIJ 155th Anniversary, Homecoming Event of the Year
14 November 2009, Saturday, 10am to 4pm
At CHIJ Secondary School |
 |
|
| |
Brought to you by The CHIJ Alumni Association, CHIJ Secondary & CHIJ Primary
As CHIJ celebrates its 155th year in 2009, this Homecoming Event of the Year is a showcase of the myriad talents of both current and former IJ Girls in all aspects of
the Arts. |
We are proud that many IJ Girls made good use of their education and God given talents to live a life dedicated to
the Arts in a professional capacity. Arts Jam @IJ! gives
us the opportunity to gather some of these professionals
and bring them ‘Home’ to share their passion and
expertise with all of us! |
|
| |
Don’t miss the opportunity to meet these professionals*-- our
very own True Blue IJ Girls! Among them, Michaela Therese veteran performer, a one-woman band as she sings and
accompanies herself emotively on the keys. A familiar face at IJ
events, Faridah Ali, is brought back by popular demand to
share her beautiful voice with you. Erica Lai, winner of the
24th UOB Art Awards' photography section, and Daphne
Huang, dance artiste who stuns audiences with her moving and
unusual interpretation of flamenco dances. |
|
|
 |
|
 |
Not forgetting our current students who
consistently do us proud with their creative
energies and dedication, bringing the IJ
Schools, Gold and Gold Honour awards at
the Singapore Youth Festivals, and at
international competitions too. Members of
the CHIJ Performing Arts CCA groups will showcase their world class
performances in two concerts at Arts Jam
@ IJ! Don’t miss the opportunity to
support our very own young talents! |
|
|
Visitors to the Arts Jam@IJ! can experience the Arts too! Art Doodling and a series of workshops* have
been planned for their hands-on involvement. These include a flamenco dance workshop by Daphne Huang, jewellery making, balloon sculpting and ice-cream
making workshops and a “how to capture….” photography session**by Erica Lai. |
|
| |
For those who prefer to be appreciative
onlookers, an Art Exhibition featuring pieces
done by students in the Visual Arts
Programme, a Photography Competition run
by students, for students, and conducted tours
of the “new” IJ School premises for those
who have yet to explore the School grounds,
will be part of the activities. |
|
| |
Stalls selling art and craft, yummy food and
drinks, plus a “must have” cuppa of gourmet
coffee will surely complete your enjoyment for
the day. |
|
|
 |
|
Are you a former or current IJ Girl? A friend? A family member?
Or, you may be just interested in all things Arts related …don’t miss |
|
|
Nowhere else would you find such wholesome family entertainment, fun activities,
the opportunity to meet old friends and teachers, or simply take a guided tour around
the School ……for an admission ticket of only $10 (adult) or $5 (student), and all for
a good cause too ……………all proceeds collected will go towards The CHIJ
Alumni Students Financial Assistance Fund which provides assistance to students in
need as well as reward the deserving ones with bursaries and cash awards.
