WHY AN ALUMNI ASSOCIATION?

83 years ago, former pupils of the CHIJ came together to set up the first Alumni Association. They wanted to keep the Spirit of IJ alive even when they were no longer pupils of the School. To this day, the same reason exists for the many who commit themselves to The CHIJ Alumni Association.

As alumni members we aim to contribute our time, energy and talents to the IJ Schools and Community in Singapore. At the same time, we aim to renew old friendships and make new ones, as we build upon the extensive network of CHIJ girls both in Singapore, and in cyberspace, all over the world.

Among other things, we embark on projects to help the IJ Schools strengthen their educational and pastoral programs for our future generations of IJ girls (many of whom are our own daughters and family members), raise funds for the less privileged students and assist in the upkeep of the Schools, chapel and IJ Homes.

With more than 150  years of IJ history behind us, there must be many more ex-IJ girls out there who share the vision and objectives of the Alumni Association in “giving back” to the Schools and Community who have helped make every IJ Girl the person she is today.

Come help build a stronger CHIJ Alumni Association. Former students of other IJ Schools (besides Town Convent and Toa Payoh), long serving teachers and even parents of current students are welcomed to join us in our various membership categories. Not forgetting that all Sisters of the Infant Jesus Order are most welcomed as honorary members.
